Cylinder Head Design Description
The GP Tech 2 design retains
all of the same characteristics of GP Tech
1 design, with the exception of the intake valve seat design.
This area is dropped .050", and the floor angle, left to right,
is somewhat steeper. The seat being lower in the bowl allows the centerline
of the runner to have a better view of the valve window. The steeper
floor angle also contributes to this effect. In combination, these
modifications should slightly enhance power at peak, and make it easier
for the engine to make power above its power peak.
Note: Due to the deep bowl of this head, intake valve spring seats
must not be lowered at all!
The head includes as standard 45 degree valve seats. Flow numbers
can be greatly enhanced, in particular the exhaust flow, with a 55
degree exhaust valve seat, combined with a 50 degree intake valve
seat. Weld Tech gives the customer the option of either valve job.
The amount of actual performance increase on the dyno will vary from
one engine combination to another.
